Okay so I realize that the challenge was and is "cookie of the week." This week, however, I have already made 3 separate batches of cookies! I blame this marathon baking on my sweet daughter Victoria. She really wanted "regular chocolate chip cookies" because for the last year, any time I make chocolate chippers, I use the "Wookie Cookie" recipe. So of course I honored her request and last night made "Mrs. Fields Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies." The recipe is from the "Mrs. Fields Best Ever Cookie Book", which I highly recommend purchasing, or it can be found at the following link:

I have noticed that with Mrs. Fields' recipes you bake the cookies at a lower temperature and for a longer period of time. For instance, with most chocolate chip cookie recipes you bake the cookies at 350 or 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Mrs. Fields, however, suggests that you bake the cookies at 300 degrees for 18-22 minutes. Can you taste the difference? ABSOLUTELY! I know this recipe took a backseat to the "Wookie Cookie" recipe, but after making and eating them last night I don't remember why. They are Delicious (notice the capital D) :) I only used semi-sweet chips as opposed to a mixture of semi-sweet and white chocolate or milk chocolate that the "Wookie Cookie" recipe indicates. In short I think I am off to great start. My only concern is keeping the pantry stocked with the necessary ingredients ☺
I have a feeling i am going to have a hard time keeping my pantry stocked, too! ;)
